How to beat the Kozo fibers into pulp
After beating the Kozo fibers thoroughly, tear a small handful of beaten pulp, put it into a bowl of water, stir it to check if the fibers would separate and open into super delicate fibers, like a fluffy cloud caught in the water. If yes, the fibers are ready for the next step. If no, the fibers need to beaten a while more.

Next is papermaking demonstration.
接下來是Mr.Fujimori的造紙示範。
Mainly there are 3 different steps in forming a sheet of Japanese paper :
- insert the screen (suketa) and scoop the pulp mixture in a fast motion to form a thin first layer of paper surface.
- insert the screen, scoop, shake the screen gently, moving forward and backward, left and right, and try to hold the screen as horizontal as possible throughout. Can do many rounds to make thicker layers of paper.
- insert the screen, scoop and then tossed off the far end of the mould to form the final layer.
